Resacas are the water canals throughout different areas of the valley. Some are natural and can dwindle or dry up with the changing seasons or occasional drought. Others, however, are controlled for water level by the local reservoirs. Some utilize these waterways to irrigate, especially the citrus groves for which our abundant valley is known. Aside from irrigation, they create a wonderful habitat for various water creatures, attract exotic species for the birding enthusiast and provide a calming backdrop to local homesteads.
